Tully Choice was born June 17, 1753, in Virginia. Enlisted 1776 in Capt. Thomas Dillard's Regiment, served in expeditions to Gwynn's Island; appointment Lieut., and marched against Cherokee Indians in Capt. Jesse Heard's Company, Col. Christie's Regiment on Sept. 15, 1777; appointed 2nd Lieut. in VA Militia; 1779 served in Capt. Witchias Co., Col. David Mason's Regiment; was in Battle of Camden when a ball passed through his coat; on Aug 24, 1780, appointed Capt. of Henry County, Virginia, Militia. In 1784 Tully Choice moved to Ninety-Six District, SC. He married Rebecca Sims; they had ten children. Tully had a brother named William Choice who was born Jan 1756 in Halifax, Pittsylvania Co, VA.
