Rev. Berry Peeler

From the History of the Washington Baptist Association of Georgia by T. E. Smith, p. 82.

He was born in South Carolina, was baptized in 1830 and was ordained to the ministry in 1842. He filled pastorates in the Washington Association at Beulah, Friendship W., and Union. Minutes of the Friendship Church show that he failed to preside as moderator only once during the four years of the Civil War. In tribute, the association's memorial stated that "Berry Peeler was a good minister of Jesus Christ. . .he died at his post after having zealously contended for the faith for nearly a quarter of a century."
