Freda Giles Lunsford -DEEPSTEP - Mrs. Freda Giles Lunsford, age 92, of Veal Road in Deepstep, died Tuesday, October 04, 2011 at her residence. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2:00 pm at the Deepstep United Methodist Church with burial in the Wall-Lunsford Cemetery in Hancock County. Rev. Larry Giles and Rev. Griffin Thompson will officiate. Pallbearers will be grandsons and great grandsons of Mrs. Lunsford.

Mrs. Lunsford, who was affectionately called "MAMA" by many, was born in Washington County the daughter of the late James Wilmer Giles and the late Mintie Dora Veal Giles. She retired in 1974 from the J.P. Stevens Company in accounting after twenty years of service and she was a member of the Deepstep United Methodist Church. Mrs. Lunsford is predeceased by; her husbands, Walter Lunsford and Fred Rachels, her children Linda Lunsford Waddell and Giles Lunsford and her sister Hilda Kay Giles.

Survivors are; her son Edward and his wife Barbara Lunsford of Gray and her daughter Hilda and her husband Mike Wells of Deepstep, grandchildren, Tanya and Chuck Jolley, Glenn and Deanie Waddell, Lee and Kathy Waddell, Michelle and Gilbert Story, Kelly and Sammy Muller, Angela and Brent Whitfield, Michael and Amy Lunsford and Steven and Kelley Lunsford, 18 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. -Donations may be made to the Pierce Memorial United Methodist Church, 122 Maiden Lane Sparta GA. 31087, or to the Deepstep United Methodist Church 9968 Deepstep Rd. Sandersville, GA. 31082 or to the Brentwood School P.O. 955 Sandersville, GA. 31082. -The family will be at the Lunsford residence 1518 Veal Road in Deepstep and they will receive friends Thursday from 1pm until the hour of service in the Social Hall of the Church.
