Susan J. Harrington, Hugh T. Harrington, and Floride Moore Gardner (Editors), Historic Memory Hill Cemetery, Milledgeville, Georgia, 1804-1997. Published by Boyd Publishing Company, Milledgeville, GA, 1998 (759 pages).

This book is based on the same database as used for this website and provides an every-name index to Milledgeville's first city cemetery, from 1804 on, including 1807 to 1868 (when Milledgeville was the capital of Georgia). The book also provides the maps for locating graves and a brief tour of the cemetery.

The Historic Memory Hill Cemetery  book was done with the sacrifice of time and money from the compilers, who include not only the editors but a large group of volunteers from the community.  No money was made by any of the compilers. The book was done as a group effort for the sole benefit of aiding family researchers, historians, and the Milledgeville community.

Harold Lawrence, Memory Hill, 1994, published by Cherokee Publishing Company and sold by Boyd Publishing Company.

This is a book of poems on the people buried in Memory Hill.  The poems tell widely varied and fascinating tales of many of the people buried in Memory Hill.

Hugh T. Harrington and Susan J. Harrington, The Dead Book: Burials in the City Cemetery at Milledgeville, Ga. 1869-1904, published by Boyd Publishing Company in 1998 (165 pages).

This book is a transcription and index of a previously unpublished list of internments kept by the city of Milledgeville.  The list contains the name, age, place of birth, cause of death, color, and death date associated with those buried in Memory Hill.  This book should be a fine supplement to this website and the Historic Memory Hill Cemetery book above, for many burials occurred that were unrecorded elsewhere, have no markers.

Elizabeth Dawson, Louise Horne and Anne King, with Technical Adviser Susan J. Harrington, One Hundred Three Lost or Found Cemeteries of Baldwin County, Georgia, 1814-1999.  Published by Twin Lakes Library System (formerly known as Mary Vinson Memorial Library), Milledgeville, GA, 1999 (272 pages).

A community effort similar to that of the Historic Memory Hill book effort resulted in the publication of this book that may be of interest  This book contains an index to nearly 4000 graves in the 103 cemeteries, directions to the cemeteries, and indices to soldiers of various wars.  All of the cemeteries in this book have now been posted to the web at:
