Obituary

Reverend Walter Mosley age 87 of Sparta, GA, died October 29, 2001 in Atlanta, Georgia. He was a native of Hancock County. He was the son of the late Thomas Mosely and Beulah Adams Mosley. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Helen Mosley and a son Jimmy Lee Mosley. He was a retired minister of Hunts Chapel AME Church. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday at Hancock Central Gymnasium, Sparta, GA. The body will lie in state at the Gym from 12:00 noon until the hour of service. Rev. Abraham Mosley and Rev. Parnell Mosley will officiate. A wake will be held on Friday night 6-8 PM at Hunts Chapel AME Church, Sparta, GA. Burial will be in the Mosley Family Cemetery, Sparta, GA. Survivors include: his wife, Hester Stembridge Mosley, Sparta; 2 daughters, Fannie M. Johnson and Margie Mosley Russell both of Atlanta; 5 sons, David Mosley, Rev. Parnell Mosley, Gary Mosley and Keith Mosley all of Atlanta and Rev. Abraham Mosley, Athens; 20 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. The family is at the family residence on Mosley Rd., Sparta, Ga. Jackson-McWhorter Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
