Inscription and Notes:
John Speights
Beneath this stone, in manly form,
Here lies a poor, and helpless worm.
Asleep in Jesus! Blessed sleep,
From which none ever wakes to weep;
But when the trump of God shall sound
To raise his people from the ground,
The sleeping dust shall wake and rise,
To meet the Saviour in the skies.
In body formed like Him, to be,
And with Him, live eternally
In heavenly mansions far above,
Solaced with God's eternal love.
